This Year, You Could Be a Winner!
Application Deadline for Environmental Award Approaching...
Washington, D.C. (February 17, 2004) – The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is accepting applications for the 14th annual Environmental Stewardship Award Program (ESAP). The deadline for applications is March 12.
“This is an exceptional opportunity for operations across the country to showcase the innovative stewardship practices on today’s progressive farms and ranches,” says Megan Tipton, director of the ESAP. “Cattlemen are actively working to protect and improve the environment because they know environmental stewardship and good business go hand-in-hand, and we are proud to recognize them.”
Sponsored by Dow AgroSciences and USDA’s Natural Resource Conservation Service (NRCS), the Environmental Stewardship Program recognizes cattle producers who use innovative practices to protect and enhance natural resources while maintaining or increasing the profitability of their businesses.
“It’s hard to believe we are now in our 14th year,” says Tipton. “The program has inspired many operations in our industry, and it continues to thrive. This year’s program will be another highly competitive contest -- so get your nomination applications in the mail as soon as possible.”
Nominees will compete for one of seven regional awards based on their state of residency. The seven regional winners then compete for the national award.
The ESAP nomination application is readily available online at: hill.beef.org/esap, or please contact Megan Tipton in NCBA’s Washington D.C. office to request a copy of the application, 202/347-0228 or mtipton@beef.org.
