Southern Cross Farms, Eupora, Miss., is owned by Gary and Nancy Jackson. Gary and Nancy are agriculture professionals who spent the first 20 years of their marriage pursuing their respective careers, and in 2005 Gary and Nancy were able to accomplish their dream of owning their own cow-calf operation and returning to their roots. As a family farm, the Jacksons have developed their property and operation to be a model farm for environmental and economic sustainability. Their mission is to produce high quality beef in the most natural and environmentally sustainable manner possible, while encouraging viable habitats for fish, wildlife, and pollinators. Each family member brings professional expertise to the operation, but they are also dependent on other industry businesses and government agencies.
Stewardship is always a teaching opportunity. Southern Cross Farm from Eupora, Mississippi prides themselves not only in producing great beef and being environmental stewards, but also using their practices to teach others.
